Hello, and welcome back to our blog here at FRF Consulting. This is part two of our blog serious about marketing tips for new businesses. If you haven’t yet read our first blog, we discussed the importance of understanding your target market and taking advantage of free advertising platforms. In this blog, we’ll add several more tips to the mix and ideally, make you a better small business owner as a result.

Stay Interconnected

People spend a lot of time talking about all the different means of marketing, but rarely discuss how they can work together. Think about all your different marketing platforms as a separate company. Is it better for one of these companies to outsource work to another company or buy them up and use synergy to increase profits? Obviously, the latter will drive more results in the long run. This is the same for with your marketing platforms. If you can find a way to have your different platforms work together, you’re almost certainly going to see better results.

One simple example of this happening in practice is simply providing a link to your social media pages on your website and vice versa. When you do this, you’ll get more traffic on both sides and more return customers as a result.

Understand The Importance Of Design

Several decades ago, you probably could’ve gotten by with a few paragraphs on a webpage or a bland TV or radio commercial. However, things have changed a lot since then and people are much more receptive to well-designed web pages and marketing strategies. Think about it, how often have you gone to a website, saw that it looked like it was built in the 90s and immediately clicked away? Humans are attracted to symmetry, vibrant colors, and clean designs. Don’t underestimate this when you’re getting your brand out there.

Don’t Forget Customer Retention

Marketing isn’t all about bringing as many customers to your company as possible, it’s about retaining them too. Customer retention will work differently for every company. For example, an HVAC company might send out a seasonal email to remind people to get their system updated or replaced before the change of seasons. If you see a lot of great customer reception on Facebook, maybe you could put out a well-planned post describing some new products or service that your company offers. There are nearly endless ways to reach out to your existing customer base, you just need to find what works for you.
